Four Points by Sheraton Downtown Dubai partners with Marriott initiatives through the Marriott Business Council (MBC) on various environmental initiatives such as tree planting, beach clean ups and painting school buildings. In addition to the MBC activities, the hotel visits community centers and works with charitable organizations to assist with environmental and social cultural causes.

Over the past year the Hôtel Martinez has been working on various sustainable initiatives across the property such as tackling waste issues and moving toward paperless operations.

An extensive waste reduction strategy is in place that aims to combat food waste and encourages recycling. The hotel supports local humanitarian associations including Une soupe un sourire (A Soup A Smile For All), SOS Gaspi and the Samu Social that help those at risk through provision of food and other assistance. In addition, every Monday the Hotel Martinez donates dishes that have not been sold to the Resto du Coeur, a French charity that distributes meals to the homeless in Cannes.

Green Globe member César Ritz Colleges , Le Bouveret Campus Switzerland educates hospitality students about the importance of biodiversity to encourage awareness and promote positive actions for the protection of the environment.

In a recent article entitled “Why hospitality should teach biodiversity”, Sylvana Navarro, Hospitality Assistant Dean at the campus explains how students are made aware of the relationship between tourism and biodiversity.

Green Globe recently recertified Hyatt Ziva Cancun. The property was the first Hyatt hotel in Mexico to be certified by Green Globe.
