Nick Bauer: Youngest Ever Student Completes Green Globe Sustainability Leadership Course for Students

Green Globe congratulates Nick Bauer, the youngest ever student to complete the Green Globe Sustainability Leadership Course for Students. The course is designed for students looking to add additional qualifications to their studies. Students study all aspects of sustainable management and operation for businesses across four key themes, Sustainability Management; Social & Economic; Cultural Heritage; and Environment. Within these themes more than 50% of the 300 sustainability indicators need to be actioned to guarantee full compliance with globally accepted best practices.

Nick Bauer is a keen traveler and is mindful of the impact that tourism has on destinations and cultures. Nick said, "For my generation we expect that all our actions will try and achieve positive outcomes for all. I took on the Green Globe Sustainability Leadership Course for Students, to discover exactly what defines sustainability. By completing the course I can apply these actions to my decision making when it comes to travel and all other areas.

"The Green Globe Sustainability Leadership Course for Students, showed me that all businesses can achieve sustainability, but they must make that part of their day-to-day activities. And just as importantly these actions must be undertaken at all levels, from workers through to senior management. In my future career, I want to engage this management approach.

Nick is currently applying to top universities in the United States, looking to undertake a business or economics degree. He believes that having a good understanding of the fundamentals of corporate and social responsibility is important. "Nearly every university degree these days has some elective or core subjects that look at how business performance can improve in a social and environmental way. All companies are hoping to have graduates that can quickly and efficiently build sustainable practices into daily operations, so the enterprises remain competitive and in touch with new and emerging markets," said Nick.
