Green Globe Awards First Certification to Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi
Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi is a secluded luxury island hideaway in the archipelago’s Shaviyani atoll.
Green Globe recently awarded Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi its inaugural certification.
The Maldivian resort is the first Fairmont property in the world to achieve the coveted certificate and has received an impressive compliance score of 85%. The Green Globe Standard includes 44 core criteria supported by more than 380 compliance indicators.
Green Globe Awards First Certification to Hotel del Parque in Ecuador
Hotel del Parque is situated within a 19-acre tropical, historic park that is part of Guayaquil’s peninsula. The restored 44-room colonial mansion surrounded by rare orchids, endemic trees and protected endangered animals, consistently earns accolades in its quest to be listed among the best eco-friendly hotels in the world. It was built in 1891 by a Guayaquil charity as the first metropolitan hospice constructed to provide shelter for homeless and elderly citizens. The hospice nearly fell to ruins before being rescued from demolition by the Ecuadorian Government. It was then moved board by board to its existing location within Parque Historico and meticulously restored to its heritage state. Today, the boutique hotel remains under local ownership operating as part of the Oro Verde hotels enterprise and as part of Relais & Chateaux.
Green Globe recently awarded Hotel del Parque its inaugural certification. The hotel achieved a very high compliance score of 90%.
Puy du Fou Dedicated to Preservation of Local Biodiversity
Puy du Fou is a historical theme park in Les Epesses (between Cholet and La Roche-sur-Yon) in the heart of the Vendée region of Western France visited by two million visitors each year.
Green Globe recently recertified Puy du Fou. Best practices at the park include environmental initiatives that promote preservation of native wildlife species and food management policies that incorporate circular economic principles.
Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai Upgrades Energy Saving Measures
Green Globe recently recertified, Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai for second year.

Green Globe recently recertified Delta Hotels Marriott Jumeirah Beach Resort Dubai for the second year.
As part of its sustainability management plan, the hotel routinely measures the consumption of water, electricity, gas and natural resources as well as waste volume at the property. Data is gathered, analysed and reduction goals communicated to all staff members. Departmental teams can then share the information to carry out actions aimed at reaching set targets.
Effective energy and water saving measures have been implemented across the property during the 2019/2020 period in line with Delta Hotels by Marriott JBR Dubai’s key environmental goals to optimize utilization of resources.
