Green Globe proudly announces Pellicano Hotels’ La Posta Vecchia Hotel and Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa have achieved their inaugural certification, marking a significant milestone in the hotels’ ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible hospitality. The certification is the result of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, reflecting the group’s dedication to preserving the natural beauty of its locations and fostering positive relationships with local communities.

This achievement is a key step in Pellicano Hotels’ broader vision - different from others - to position itself as Italy’s leading hospitality group, offering experiences with a strong identity and soul, in extraordinary locations that evoke deep emotions, paired with exceptional service.
The Green Globe certification process involved rigorous assessments of sustainability performance across various areas, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and responsible sourcing. Over the past year, Pellicano Hotels has implemented several initiatives aimed at enhancing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, including:
Employee Training & Engagement: A structured ESG training plan was introduced for all employees, complemented by end-of-season ESG speeches and an open forum for team members to contribute sustainability ideas.
Enhanced Human Resource Policies: Improvements in salary structures, the introduction of new HR software to reduce paper consumption, and a new uniform line reflecting the hotel brand’s ethos.
Sustainable Purchasing Policy: A revised procurement approach shared with all suppliers, emphasizing ethical and sustainable sourcing.
At La Posta Vecchia Hotel, a new project was developed to honor and enhance the culinary traditions of Roman cuisine, this new culinary chapter invites guests to rediscover hero ingredients and timeless dishes that celebrate the region’s rich and diverse culinary heritage. In addition, La Posta Vecchia Hotel also collaborated with the curators of its museum to plan innovative projects for the following year and scheduled maintenance work to reduce water consumption.
At Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa, the property has undergone several sustainability-driven renovations, including the merging and upgrading of guest rooms, the introduction of an advanced light management system, and refurbishments in outdated areas to enhance energy efficiency and environmental performance.

The Green Globe certification aligns with Pellicano Hotels’ ambition to achieve BREEAM certification for design and construction across all properties, reinforcing its dedication to responsible tourism. This recognition underscores Pellicano Hotels’ concept of Il Dolce Far Bene, a vision and commitment to preserve the unique beauty and traditions of local areas for the next generations to come.
