Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch, den Bosch: Social Conscience from the Heart
Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch is located on the waterfront of Lake Provinciehuis just outside the historical city centre of den Bosch in The Netherlands. The hotel was first certified by Green Globe in 2011 and has attained the highest-level PLATINUM status for continuous improvement of its sustainable management practices.
Coming out of the Covid pandemic, it has been noted that Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch has done a great job holding on to all permanent and long serving staff during very difficult times. And recently its ongoing commitment to people and social development has been on further display.
The staff and management at Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch are especially proud of the assistance they have been able to provide to the elderly people living in their beautiful city.
Working together with a local foundation Eet met je hart, the hotel team has organized and sponsored lunches for elderly people who may be experiencing social isolation.
In their region Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch has been contributing to rebuilding tourism by supporting the local destination management organization, Visit Brabant. The hotel is active in encouraging hotel guests to visit attractions and places of interest beyond den Bosch. Using in-house information, the hotel hopes to send a bigger spread of tourists to build greater resilience within the region’s tourism operators.
This year the Mövenpick Hotel ‘s-Hertogenbosch team wished to extend their social contributions beyond their borders and have recently been assisting those displaced by the conflict in Ukrainian.
Claudia Kuijs-Esser Front Office Manager says, “We can’t imagine what it’s like to stay in a refugee camp especially if you just gave birth to a newborn baby. So, the hotel together with our local Government has provided two hotel rooms for refuge women from the Ukraine who have just given birth to newborn babies. For the first days after giving birth, the new mothers have been able to recover in a quiet and peaceful environment.”
