Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh Celebrates Continued Sustainability Success with Green Globe Certification

Green Globe Certification is delighted to announce its second consecutive certification of Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh, reaffirming the resort’s steadfast commitment to sustainable operations and responsible tourism. This well-earned recognition reflects the resort’s outstanding environmental and social contributions, marking it as a leader of sustainable travel in Vietnam’s fast-growing tourism landscape.

Among its most notable achievements in 2024 is a remarkable stride in resource management. Despite the demands of expansion, specifically a 28% increase in electricity use due to a new building, the resort managed to reduce energy consumption per occupied room by an impressive 6.2% in the first quarter of the year, compared to the same period in 2023. These gains were driven by the integration of the GAIA 2.0 smart energy system, forward-thinking energy policies, and the resort’s long-term sustainability roadmap extending through 2030. Future enhancements, including solar energy projects, rainwater reuse systems, and insulated hot water piping, illustrate Mövenpick’s strategic approach to reducing its carbon footprint while delivering top-tier guest experiences.

Equally inspiring is the resort’s dedication to social sustainability, epitomised by the Kilo of Kindness campaign. From October 15 to November 13 last year, staff, guests, and partners rallied together to donate essential goods to local charities. The initiative collected a heartwarming 2,740 kilograms of items, directly benefiting students at Khanh Thuong Primary School and underscoring the resort’s mission to turn compassion into action. As part of Mövenpick's global social impact initiative, this campaign reflects the hotel’s role not only as a host but as a committed member of the community.

On the operational front, Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh continues to embed sustainability into its daily culture through innovative internal programs. One standout initiative was No Bin Day, held at the staff canteen on November 15, 2024. By removing waste bins for the day, employees were encouraged to rethink waste, embrace mindful consumption, and engage directly with the resort’s zero-waste aspirations. The effort fostered a renewed sense of accountability and environmental consciousness among the team, proving that impactful change begins from within.

“Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh is proud to announce that for the second year in succession, it has been awarded the Green Globe certification. This is testament to the Resort’s dedication to sustainable practices,” said Mr. Bruno Huber, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh. “Green Globe’s certification is not just an award, it's a recognition of our collective efforts in creating a greener and more responsible future for our community and the planet.”

As the resort looks ahead, it remains committed to pushing the boundaries of what sustainable luxury can look like, while fostering a brighter, cleaner, and more inclusive future for guests, staff, and the wider community alike.
