At Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo Luxury Upcycles into Sustainability

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo is one of four hotels in the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group. The iconic Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo sits right at the heart of Monte-Carlo’s Place du Casino, offering guests legendary hospitality while meeting the highest level of sustainability.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo’s sustainable management program is verified by independent auditors, guaranteeing the authenticity of the hotel’s ecological achievements and social contributions. The latest compliance score of 82% places the hotel at Green Globe’s elite level of performance.

Mrs Virginie Cotta, Secretary General of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer said, “ Since 2019, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has received Green Globe certification, this latest re-certification came after a year of again rolling out green engagements and eco-friendly daily activities across all departments of our legendary hotel.

“We are really proud to see our team’s efforts contributing to sustainable development at all levels in the hotel, but also to the new Art de vivre of Monte-Carlo which evolves towards an increasingly ethical and responsible form of luxury.”

In collaboration with SapoCycle, the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has collected 24kg of Guerlain soaps from guest rooms & suites. SapoCycle is a non-profit organisation that collects discarded soap in European hotels, reprocesses them and distributes the recycled soaps to improve sanitary conditions of children and families in need. People with disabilities oversee the soap recycling, which provides them stable employment. The soap collected from Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has been made into 240 new SapoCycle soap bars.

All Nespresso capsules used at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo are collected and recycled. The coffee capsules are made from aluminum which can be infinitely recycled and are returned to Nespresso as part of their global recycling program. In 2022, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo collected 260kg of capsules which were recycled into the equivalent of 890 aluminum cans (33cl).

Since 2019 Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has been producing and collecting their own golden honey in the foothills of the Mercantour, located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes. Bee preservation is essential for ecosystems and each morning the delicious product of the hotel’s apiary is showcased on the hotel buffet breakfast.
