Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City Employs Eco-Friendly Initiatives to Champion Environmental Responsibility
Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City Redefines Sustainable Hospitality: Elevating Guest Experiences through Innovative Practices
Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City, a premium hotel located in the Dubai’s regional Media and Internet hub, has embarked on a mission to redefine sustainable hospitality while providing exceptional guest experiences. The hotel takes pride in its innovative and eco-friendly practices, aimed at reducing its ecological footprint and promoting environmental consciousness.
One of the notable changes implemented by the hotel is the replacement of plastic PVC key cards in Guest Rooms with elegant wooden alternatives. This shift not only reduces plastic waste but also adds a touch of sophistication, aligning luxury with environmental consciousness.
In line with prioritizing cleanliness and well-being, the hotel has adopted a biodegradable based solution for cleaning its fresh air handling units, which power the hotel's air conditioning system. This environmentally friendly approach, utilizing low-pressure and PH-neutral surfactants, improves air flow, heat transfer, and overall efficiency while eliminating the use of harsh chemicals.
Recognizing the importance of sustainable practices in all areas of operation, the hotel has introduced recyclable notepads made from recycled materials in all meeting rooms. These eco-friendly notepads offer guests a professional platform to capture ideas while reducing the ecological footprint.
To combat the challenge of plastic waste, the hotel has implemented an in-house water bottling refilling station. Guests can utilize sterilized glass bottles filled with water processed in a controlled and hygienic environment, significantly reducing single-use plastic consumption.
In terms of design choices, Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City has opted for low-VOC highly glossy paint for its parking spaces. This not only ensures durability but also minimizes the release of harmful compounds into the environment, reducing the necessary level of operating lights.
Furthermore, the hotel actively addresses its carbon footprint by undertaking CO2 offsetting for energy usage in all meetings and events. Through retiring Verified Carbon Units, the hotel contributes to projects such as the 1.6MW Bundled Rice Husk Based Cogeneration Plant by M/S Milk Food Limited (MFL) in Patiala (Punjab) and Moradabad (U.P) districts, showcasing its commitment to responsible energy consumption.
Alfio Bernardini, General Manager, Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City, stated, "Sustainable practices are essential to providing exceptional guest experiences. Through our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, we aim to set a new standard in sustainable hospitality. We want our guests to enjoy their stay while knowing they are contributing to a greener future."
Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City takes pride in leading the way in sustainable initiatives within the hospitality industry. The hotel aspires to inspire and encourage other establishments to prioritize environmentally responsible actions by embracing intelligent and enjoyable sustainability practices.
