This recognition underscores the resort’s extensive environmental initiatives including carbon reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, responsible sourcing, waste management and biodiversity protection.
Amarterra Villas Bali actively measures and reports its carbon footprint through the MESH (Marriott Environmental Sustainability Hub) platform to ensure ongoing monitoring and reduction efforts. The resort has implemented energy-efficient systems and encourages low-carbon activities to minimize environmental impacts.
The resort has installed LED lighting with timers to optimize energy usage while pool and public area pumps operate on scheduled timers to conserve power. Regular reviews and upgrades to energy systems further enhance efficiency and minimize consumption.
In collaboration with ITDC, the tourism complex in which the resort is located, Amarterra Villas Bali recycles and repurposes water for irrigation to reduce overall water consumption. In addition, water-saving fixtures are installed in guest villas and public areas to promote efficient water use.
Amarterra Villas prioritizes responsible sourcing with at least 80% of food ingredients procured locally to reduce transportation emissions and support local agriculture. The resort partners with the Scholars of Sustenance foundation to distribute leftover food to those in need, effectively reducing waste while giving back to the community. Single-use plastics have been eliminated throughout the resort and comprehensive waste management practices including onsite composting, recycling and regular waste audits support responsible disposal efforts.
To support local biodiversity, the resort maintains and protects its natural habitats by incorporating indigenous plants into its landscaping.
