Hotel Plesnik is located in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, which run along the border between Northern Slovenia and Austria. Hotel Plesnik has been certified by Green Globe since 2020 and recently been re-certified with a compliance score of 81%, placing the property among Green Globe’s high achievers for sustainable tourism management and operations.

The Plesnik family's roots in the Logar Valley date back as far as 1426 and mainly in agriculture and tourism. It is no surprise then, that the hotel is connected to coexisting with its surrounding nature. All employees at Hotel Plesnik strive in all areas to care for the unspoilt nature and the sustainable use of resources.

Hotel Plesnik’s sustainability plan includes environmental, socio-cultural, quality, health and safety considerations, which together govern the hotel’s performance. In the last three years the amount of garbage generated per person has been reduced from 7.47 kg to 6.3 kg per person per day. This 16% reduction is a significant achievement. Key to this success has been the exclusion of items that have non-returnable packaging. Many of these items have been replaced with home-made products including, elder flower syrup, raspberry syrup, ice tea, sage & lemon liqueur, and pate for breakfast. A BVT machine for water filtration and sparkling water has also been ordered to begin replacing bottled water.

Hotel Plesnik is a well-respected meeting destination and member of the Slovenian Convention Bureau. For three years running the hotel has been selected among the top 10 boutique hotels in the region of 'New' Europe. The hotel has also received a Meetings Star Award for South-East Europe, awarded by Kongres magazine. 

Business groups have been attracted to Hotel Plesnik for its deep connection to local culture and activities. The hotel’s entertainment team links groups to local shepherds, farmers and game hunters, as well as with IFMGA mountain guides exploring the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. For lovers of Alpine nature and lifestyle, there are many activities available, such as a kayak school, rafting, exploring archaeological and snow caves, cycling along the Solčava panoramic road up to an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea-level, offroad 4x4 rides to some of the hidden corners of the Logar Valley, archery, torchlit night walks to a woodcutter's hut, bread baking competitions, felting workshops, and more.
