In line with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ philosophy to create a better future, Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach Phuket, in Thailand, has been committed to sustainability and corporate responsibility for years. This exclusive luxury residence of penthouses and suites impresses with a significantly low environmental footprint and an outstanding CSR program – all efforts recently earned Green Globe re-certification.

“We are very proud about our achievement and the international recognition,” said Michael Wenk, Resident Manager at the Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach. “We are constantly reinforcing our commitment towards environmental conservation and the requirements of Green Globe standards, always researching new methods and technologies, helping to reduce our impact. I would like to thank the entire hotel team for their dedication, and we will remain environmentally-conscious of this beautiful island, while providing the best possible service to our guests.”

Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach has integrated a number of eco-friendly initiatives to optimize energy resources, reduce water consumption, and minimize waste and pollution. A high-efficiency air condition inverter compressor model is installed for energy-efficient heating and cooling. Water is provided by the city and a deep well, and goes through the property’s own treatment plant to ensure it is clean and safe. Biodegradable materials as well as recyclable products can be found throughout the resort. Thai traditions are promoted here: Guests can enjoy local art and architecture in the lobby and spa. A “spirit house” has been implemented at the hotel entrance.

Contributing to a positive community and environment, Mövenpick Resort Bangtao Beach works hand in hand with various registered local and global charity partners. In collaboration with local authorities, the hotel participates in initiatives, such as giving gifts to children on Children’s Day. The purchase of coloring books supports the disadvantaged children at the ‘Phuket Has Been Good To Us’ foundation. Regular donations of bed linen, towels, and uniforms benefit people in need in the Northern and Eastern local provinces.

“We believe that the future is in our hands, and each and every one of us can contribute to the environment by having a greener lifestyle, and reducing our collective footprint,” added Michael Wenk.
