Technology Recycling Centers Map in the USA

Technology Recycling Centers Map in the USA
July 3, 2019 Bradley Cox

Each year, over 50 million tons of electronic waste is created with the United States reported as the biggest producer of e-waste worldwide. In the US alone, over 9 million tons of electronics are thrown away every year and less than 15% of all e-waste is recycled.

We encourage all of our members to recycle old and used electronic equipment including computers/laptops, phones, Smart devices, office photocopiers and printers and even AV equipment such as projectors and radios to decrease environmental and human impacts.

Donating and recycling old e-waste reduces GHG emissions as well as water pollution and soil contamination. Technology recycling centers also help extract and recycle valuable resources and materials like metals, glass, or plastics. For example, for every million cell phones recycled, 35,000 pounds of copper, 772 pounds of silver, 75 pounds of gold, and 33 pounds of palladium are recovered according to the EPA.

Here is a useful Technology Recycling Map where you can find a local recycling center or let others know of their whereabouts.
