On the horizon of Tunisia’s liveliest town lies the Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse. Stretched out along a sparkling beachfront, this exquisite getaway offers all you expect from a perfect holiday experience.
Green Globe recently recertified Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse with the property receiving a high compliance score of 93%.
The resort adheres to a comprehensive Sustainability Management Plan that is fully integrated throughout hotel management and operations. Employees receive ongoing training on environmental and sustainability initiatives to remain up to date with changes and developments. The SMP is published externally on the hotel website and displayed in reception areas for guests and visitors. Posters are also displayed in guest rooms to raise awareness about actions that can be taken to save energy and water and reduce waste.
Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse is actively involved in environmental and community events that take place during the year. On World Environment Day this year, staff and guests enjoyed planting flowers and shrubs at the beach to combat sand erosion. Adults and children joined in the fun activity and the new plants now grow on the beach resting against barriers made from recycled wood. In 2017 as part of World Environment Day celebrations, the resort collaborated with the Ministry of the Environment with staff assisting with clean ups in the city of Sousse.
Each September the resort participates in the annual Kilo of Kindness campaign conducted by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. Guests are asked to donate a kilo of non-perishable food, clothing or educational supplies to help those in need in the community. This year, Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse collected donations for the School for Blind Children of Sousse, which provides a place for education and accommodation for children and teenagers from cities and towns throughout Tunisia.
In line with its CSR policy, the resort also sponsored a group incentive for The Tunisian Association of Center Ophthalmologists to visit the archeological and natural sites of Sousse. The resort also worked with the Municipality of Sousse last year for the 1st Francophonie Festival Sousse sponsoring an exhibition of products made purely from recycled products.
