Mövenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai named after the famed Arab adventurer, is a 5-star property located within walking distance from Ibn Battuta Shopping Mall and the Dubai Metro with easy access to Dubai’s top attractions – The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Green Globe recently recertified Mövenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai  for the sixth consecutive year with the hotel maintaining its Gold status.

Several projects to minimise energy and water consumption were implemented in the past year. Energy usage was reduced by 2.99% while water usage dropped by 9.28%. Energy savings were attributed to sustainable measures such as effective utility management, an active preventative maintenance plan, installation of motion sensors around the property and the replacement of 60% of bulbs with new LEDs. Water savings resulted from aerators and sensors being fitted on all taps including public restrooms.

In line with their environmental responsibilities, Green Sustainable Meetings  are available at Mövenpick Ibn Battuta Gate while regular training is conducted for staff on sustainability practices. To encourage guests to participate in eco-friendly actions, linen reuse information is available in rooms and energy conservation tips published on electronic notice boards.

As part of the hotel’s waste management strategy, segregation bins and a recycling station are positioned in meeting rooms, BOH areas and public access areas. The IT department has also placed posters that promote responsible paper consumption and printing actions to fellow staff members.

The property has invested and participated in several CSR activities and donation programs over the last twelve months. Environmental actions undertaken by management and staff include involvement in Earth Hour, Clean-up UAE and can collection campaigns. Community projects include the A Kilo of Kindness campaign, blood donation drives and food donations during Ramadan while retired towels, linen and used clothing are given to charitable groups.
