The Mövenpick Hotel Beirut is the only business hotel with extensive resort facilities in Beirut. Located directly on the Mediterranean Sea and only minutes away from the airport, this upscale hotel offers all you would expect from a 5-star beach resort.

Green Globe recently recertified Mövenpick Hotel Beirut. The hotel was awarded its first certification in 2011 and is the only Green Globe certified property in Lebanon.

Resource Conservation Management

The hotel adheres to a comprehensive Sustainability Management Plan that includes implementing best practices for water and energy conservation throughout the year. Energy consumption is recorded daily by the Engineering department and shared in daily management meetings. In addition, all power in meeting rooms, kitchens and food outlets, and back of house areas is turned off when not in use to save energy. Reduction targets were set at 5% for energy, water and waste for 2019.

Community Initiatives

In response to the devastating port explosion that rocked Beirut in August this year, Mövenpick Hotel Beirut’s General Manager, Chadi Gedeon, and a team of staff members took to the streets to offer their support and contribute as much as possible with the rescue of their beloved community. Food parcels donated by the hotel were distributed to residents affected by this tragic event that left an estimated 300,000 people homeless.

Other CSR initiatives supported by the hotel are ongoing programs. In September 2019, the hotel participated in Mövenpick Hotel & Resorts’ annual Kilo of Kindness campaign where guests, staff and community members are invited to help disadvantaged children by donating at least one kilogram, of food, clothing and school supplies.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

The property has 11 multi-purpose function rooms for meetings and events. To minimize the generation of waste, guests and visitors are encouraged to reuse all stationery materials such as notebooks, pens and pencils instead of replacing them with new items.
