LOS ANGELES, California – Green Globe announced Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France, has been recertified for its sustainable operations and management.

Hotel Martinez, overlooking the Mediterranean, is a cultural icon and a significant part of the heritage of Cannes. Built in the classic art deco style, this world-renowned hotel has provided luxury holidays for more than 80 years.

Hotel Martinez General Manager Mr. Richard Schilling said: “In October 2010, the Hotel Martinez was the first hotel in Cannes to receive Green Globe certification. A distinctive award praising the work of our staff and the actions involved in our corporate social responsibility supported by our group Concorde Hotels & Resorts. Today, our certification is renewed, and more than ever, the Hotel Martinez’s commitment is expressed and comes through in all the services provided to maximize the satisfaction for our guests.”

Green Globe Certification CEO Guido Bauer said: “The management and staff of Hotel Martinez understands the inherent responsibility they have as one of the founding institutions of tourism in Cannes. Their work today includes both promotion of local food and culture to their international guests, provision of their extensive facilities and services to environmental organizations, and support for local charities, particularly assisting children of the local area.

“Recently, Green Globe conducted video interviews of the hotel’s key managers who provided great detail on their sustainability activities. These informative clips are some of the most watched on the Green Globe YouTube channel – mygreenglobe – and are available in both French and English. I think they are must-see interviews for tourism businesses looking for excellent examples of how major hotels are contributing to their destinations.”

Hotel Martinez is part of the Concorde Hotels & Resorts group, which supports projects led by Care France to help people impacted by the effects of climate change. Hotel Martinez is dedicated to the pursuit of quality and received its ISO 9001 certificate in July 2006. This certificate demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to customer satisfaction through a detailed focus of the quality of services and a dedication to constantly improving them.

The Hotel Martinez is known for stylish living, where comfort and technology have aesthetic overtones, and from its eminent position on the sea front, on the famous boulevard de La Croisette in Cannes, the Hotel Martinez has established itself over the decades as the flagship hotel on the Riviera. From the outside, its architectural beauty makes it timeless and establishes its elegance and eternal youth. With seven floors that overlook the sea front and a floor area that covers 40,000 square meters, it is one of the top European luxury hotels.

As spacious as it is extravagant, the hotel has an extraordinary infrastructure, both in terms of guest accommodation comprising 409 rooms and suites, and in the services the hotel has to offer. The Martinez has three restaurants, “La Palme d’Or,” a 2 stars Michelin gourmet restaurant, “Le Relais,” and the “Zplage Beach Restaurant.” There is a piano bar, a vast private beach, a heated pool, fifteen meeting rooms, and reception lounges that total 2,500 square meters; all this puts the Hotel Martinez just behind the congress center “Palais des Festivals” in terms of reception capacity in Cannes. The reception infrastructure is one of the major assets of the hotel, and in all seasons conventions, seminars, and other social, festive, and professional events, the majority of them international can be hosted.
