Green Globe today announced recertification of Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa Bali, Indonesia. The resort´s dedicated Green Globe Committee constantly monitors sustainable procedures, which have been implemented with great commitment, and therefore continuously improves its performance.
Recent resort achievements include winning the Gold Medal at the Tri Hita Karana Tourism Awards of the Governor of Bali. The awards are an important Balinese accreditation for hotel practices and honor “harmony in human relationships and with the natural and spiritual environment.”
In December 2011, Anantara Seminyak Resort&Spa, Bali was also certified as “Tsunami Ready,” being the first hotel in Bali to proactively involve the community and provide tsunami shelter to as many people as possible.
Wayan Sucitra, Environmental Officer at Anantara Seminyak Bali, said: “We are very proud that Anantara Seminyak Bali receives Green Globe recertification. This encourages us to continuously improve our sustainability performance. Everybody at our resort is very committed.”
As an Anantara Resort, the Anantara Seminyak Bali promotes local cultural traditions and contributes to preserve historic heritage and the natural beauty of its destination: the resort regularly participates in environmental activities and events such as Earth Day, Earth Hour, and beach cleaning days. As part of its Social Involvement Program, Anantara Seminyak partners with the community and offers local artisans to sell their handicrafts in the hotel´s gift shop and library; invites them to perform Balinese traditional dances and other entertainment shows on the property; and integrates aspects of the colorful, deeply spiritual, and unique Balinese culture into everyday experiences of guests.
