Green Globe is proud to announce that the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), at its 98th Session in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, has accepted the sustainable tourism certification company as an Affiliate Member.
UNWTO Affiliate Members demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainable, ethical and socially responsible tourism that contributes to the world’s economic and social development.
Green Globe is a leader in its field, providing professional certification of sustainability credentials to tourism businesses around the world. In this role, Green Globe is committed to connecting to all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, including businesses, governments and not-for-profits, so that it may share its knowledge, innovation and best practices.
Green Globe CEO, Mr Guido Bauer said, “Green Globe has a long standing commitment to improving the performance and competitiveness of tourism globally. For some time I have been pleased to attend UNWTO sponsored events, such as the Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Tourism at the United Nations headquarters in New York, and contribute our company’s wealth of experience as well as coming to understand the greater challenges our industry faces.
