Green Globe Congratulates
the Appointment of Sustainability Leader to the Caribbean
Green Globe Certification congratulates architectural and planning firm OBM International on their appointment of Ms Denaye Hinds as Director of Sustainability.
Mr Guido Bauer, Green Globe Certification CEO said, ‘We have worked with Denaye for a number of years as a professional auditor for Green Globe Certification in the Caribbean. Denaye has proven herself to be a real leader in the delivery of sustainability solutions to some of the best tourism businesses and most vibrant tourism destinations across the region. Denaye’s appointment is one of the most significant achievements that Green Globe Certification and OBMI have delivered under their partnership, which was announced at the start of this year.
Like our own company, OBMI is a dynamic firm concerned with bringing sustainable operation and management to resorts and communities in some of the most sensitive tourism destinations on the planet. With Denaye directing these efforts under our partnership, we believe many more tourism businesses and communities will have the opportunity to benefit and profit from utilising our sustainability solutions’, added Mr Bauer.
Mr. Tim Peck, Chairman of OBMI said, ‘OBMI has its roots in Bermuda and the Caribbean, and we are delighted to be able to appoint Denaye, a Bermudian, to drive our sustainability practice internationally. OBMI’s island origins and the related cultural and environmental sensitivity have been key to our international growth,” he said.
Denaye will lead and expand OBMI’s international design and planning sustainability practice. She will focus on building relationships and engaging the development community, as well as local governments, to promote sustainability. Denaye will also implement company-wide education programmes, which include conducting and managing OBMI’s Green Globe Certified Projects.
The OBMI, Green Globe Certification partnership, has established a global platform that delivers destination certification to communities and their business stakeholders. Denaye will actively promote the Green Globe Tourism Destination Standard for Communities throughout the countries and communities across the Caribbean.
