With breathtaking views over the French Alps, the 4-star Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne lies nestled on the shores of Lake Geneva or Lake Léman as it is otherwise known. Guests can wake up in one of the Deluxe Lake View Rooms, benefit from extra space in Lake Junior Suites or step into the rain showers and onto the balconies of the stylish Premium Rooms.

Green Globe recertifed Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne in June for the eighth year.

First certified in 2012, Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne remains committed to its sustainability objectives and in carrying out continuous improvements in its green management and operations.

Resource Management

Over the years the hotel has focussed on energy savings in regard to electricity, water and gas consumption. The hotel has three control systems in place – GAIA, Enerplan and AENEC that allow routine monitoring of energy consumption and the comprehensive analysis of compiled data that is utilized by management and technical departments at the hotel and the ACCOR Group which owns the property.

Other green measures are in place at the hotel. Water drawn from nearby Lake Geneva is used for cooling the building and greenhouse gas emissions are calculated and reduction targets set.

General Manager Lunches

Best practices at the hotel have included lunches with the General Manager. Once a week the GM holds a lunch with staff where they can share their thoughts, recommendations and concerns about the hotel. Within a casual and pleasant setting, valuable feedback is exchanged and employees have a better sense of engagement and involvement in the hotel’s green vision and values which is vital for the successful implementation of any sustainability strategy.

Community Support

Community initiatives are organised throughout the year to assist various groups and causes in Lausanne. In April this year, to bring cheer to local hospital staff and patients, Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne donated hundreds of Mövenpick chocolate bars to Vidy Med Medical Centers during the Coronavirus lockdown period. There are three Vidy Med centers that service the Lausanne region seven days a week with over 100 doctors and other healthcare providers.

To support regional development, a new local artist is featured each month and their paintings displayed on the walls of the Les Saison Restaurant. This is a creative way for visitors to discover local artists and the paintings are available for purchase as well.
