Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai is located in the heart of Sheikh Zayed Road’s business district, just minutes away from Dubai International Airport, Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest tower.

Green Globe recently awarded Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai its inaugural certification.

Sustainable Design

The environmental performance of the hotel is monitored through BMS systems and through the Hotel Optimizer reporting platform. In line with its Sustainability Management Plan, the hotel plans to reduce energy and water consumption by 2%. The property has implemented active and passive technology solutions to save energy such as double-glazed windows, LED lights, motion sensors, high efficiency chillers and energy efficient equipment.

The construction and design of the building itself incorporates green principles appropriate to the climate. Full length balconies extend on all floors stopping the direct glare of sunlight and providing shade on glass panels to reduce cooling needs. Full length glass windows provide natural light in all rooms throughout the day also minimizing energy consumption. Water flow is restricted throughout the property with pressure reducing valves and the installation of low flow aerators on taps.

Minimizing Environmental Impacts

Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai aims to reduce waste going to landfill by 5% and has established a Take Care Champions Group to support environmental initiatives. The property is an active contributor to the Emirates Environmental Group recycling campaign each year.

Sustainability measures in guest rooms include recycling bins, the replacement of all individual amenities with dispensers and tent cards to motivate responsible behaviour to reduce energy/ water usage and encourage recycling practices. In addition, wooden stirrers have replaced plastic spoons to reduce the use of single use plastics.

Furthermore, as the property is located in one of the commercial hubs in Dubai, alternative transportation options are promoted to guests including hybrid taxis, electric vehicles and bike rentals to minimize fossil fuel consumption.

Community Development Activities

The property supports various charitable and community development initiatives such as Iftar for Labor Camp, charitable activities during Ramadan, Iftar for Cabs and providing donations of clothes for the Al Jalila Foundation. The hotel has commenced Breast Cancer Awareness programs for all female associates and staff participated in the Road 2 Awareness charity event in aid of Al Jalila Foundation – Marina Walk.
