Green Globe Academy and Sustainable Travel & Tourism Agenda (STTA), Kenya, are proud to announce a training partnership to encourage more young people to be in the frontline of sustainable tourism development.

The partnership will give youth, who are part of the STTA Young Change Makers program, access to Green Globe Academy’s Sustainability Leadership Course for Students, enabling the STTA Young Change Makers to optimize and consolidate knowledge received from their monthly inter-university seminars. After successful completion of the course, Green Globe Academy and STTA will then issue a joint certificate to the STTA Young Change Makers.

STTA was inspired in 2017, by the declaration of the international Year for Sustainable Tourism for Development, to create safe spaces for tourism students in Kenyan universities to learn, exchange knowledge and ideas, acquire skills and feel encouraged and motivated to take leading roles in designing the tourism future for all; that is tourism that is sustainable and inclusive.

By this collaboration, STTA also recognizes that they can support the  innovative thinking of youth and underpin this generation’s efforts in meeting the challenges of sustainable social and economic development.

“I am delighted that this pioneering extension learning program, mainly delivered through monthly inter-university seminars on sustainable tourism, is now linked to a renowned and leading sustainable tourism institution, to create new opportunities for the university students and also contribute to building a strong foundation for a truly sustainable tourism industry,” said Judy Kepher Gona, Founder of Sustainable Travel & Tourism Agenda- STTA

Green Globe CEO, Guido Bauer added, “Our goal for the Green Globe Academy is to work with institutions on the ground in destinations around the world. In this way we can deliver our important knowledge and training in ways that are relevant to the new generation of tourism workers, manager and entrepreneurs.”
