Oct 29, 2012, Los Angeles, California – The SNELAC, main French professional union of theme parks, signed on October 25th a partnership agreement with the consulting agency François-Tourisme-Consultants (FTC), in order to assist the SNELAC members towards sustainability management in tourism.

The SNELAC represents over 230 members in France : big famous leisure parks as well as regional companies or family businesses. “The parks have a family audience and we must commit ourselves to sustainable tourism,” explains Arnaud BENNET, President of SNELAC, and CEO of Le Pal, one of the main attraction parks in France. To assist its members, the SNELAC develops many tools encouraging good environmental practices. Today, the SNELAC Union wants to go a step further in the field of sustainability through this new partnership with FTC, specialist in sustainable development for tourism, as well as Green Globe Certification preferred partner in France (and French-speaking countries of Africa).

“Some French parks are actually already committed to the responsible management of their business. For example, Le Pal, amusement park and zoo located in the center of France, and the Grand Parc du Puy du Fou, are both Green Globe certified “confirms Philippe Francois, President of FTC. Some other parks have expressed their wish or have already joined the Green Globe community & program. Specifically designed for the tourism industry, Green Globe helps organisations to improve continually on sustainable development issues.
