Green Globe certified Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event GmbH (DCSE) has released its annual report for 2016 and announced the highest revenues in the company’s history. More than 2.2 million visitors attended almost 3,700 events at DCSE, including 86 conventions and corporate events , as well as 100 concerts and shows, and 61 sporting events. Corporate revenue reached 35.52 million euros, breaking the standing record — set in the previous year — by 2.35 million euros, or 6.62%. This marks two consecutive years of record revenues for the company.

Commitment to sustainability plays an important role in the everyday corporate routine. Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event has anchored the sustainability concept solidly in its corporate philosophy. The company sees ecologically efficient and socially responsible behaviour as an ongoing process that is firmly integrated in its daily business.

Four of DCSE’s venues have received the Green Globe Certification. The CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf has received the seal three times in a row. The Mitsubishi Electric HALLE, the ESPRIT arena, and the ISS DOME have now all received it for the first time. The Green Globe Certification organisation assesses international establishments in regard to their environmental awareness. The assessment is based on ecological, social and economic factors.

Since last year, Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event has been participating in the state capital’s “Projekt Ökoprofit” (Eco-Profit Project) with the ESPRIT arena and the ISS DOME. The initiative combines economic gain with ecological benefits. In order to distinguish savings potentials, evaluations are made on the basis of site inspections. DCSE will, for example, change the lighting in both buildings to LED in stages. Replacing the halogen spots with LED lighting in the garages, the promenade, and the VIP areas alone could save as much as 19,000 euros in energy costs per year. DCSE vehicle fleet will also include two electric cars. Electric charging stations can be found at the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE, the ISS DOME and the ESPRIT arena.

Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event expects continued positive growth in 2017 and the following years. There are already more than 2,300 events with a projected 2.34 million visitors planned for the current year, and an expected revenue of more than 40 million euros.
