The European Hospitality Awards is one of the most famous and prestigious awards in the hotel sector, and last Friday 7th of November in London, Inspira Santa Marta Hotel was named the Green Hotel of the Year in Europe 2014.
Inspira Santa Marta Hotel´s core concept is sustainability. A wide range of efforts is undertaken at the hotel to do more than just improve hotel performance, but also to encourage others to become more environmentally responsible. Without compromising the comfort of guests, Inspira has implemented measures to minimize its ecological footprint, reduce consumption in all operations, use 100% green energy, and introduced many other innovations including the installation of thermal accumulators, recycling systems and paperless procedures.
General Manager Nicolas Roucos said, “This accolade is a fantastic reward for the work and initiatives that the team at Inspira has produced since it opened in 2010. We hope to be able to continue to serve as a reference in Sustainable Hotel Management and to promote our know-how and good practices to other hotels in the future, and to inspire our stakeholders to do the same!”
Inspira’s ambitions are to respect the environment and meet the demands of its environmentally conscious guests. Being awarded Green Hotel of the Year in Europe 2014 recognizes the investment Inspira has made in the last 4 years and is a significant step to becoming a leading example of sustainability in the hospitality industry. The team at Inspira also acknowledges that the challenge by Green Globe’s certification, to do better year-on-year, has been a real contributor to receiving this prize.
Inspira Santa Marta Hotel is more than a 4-star boutique hotel in Lisbon. All services, from the guest rooms and the spa have been designed on the principles of Feng Shui philosophy.
