Prestigious business magazine, Acquisition International (AI) has announced Green Globe’s Guido Bauer as CEO of the Year – California.
AI presents its CEO of the Year awards to leading business people in their respective fields, highlighting individuals who have displayed innovation, achieved continued growth of their enterprise and raised the bar for performance in their industry.
Upon receiving this award, Mr Bauer said, “From the outset I personally believed in the power of sustainability to bring change for the better. I directly invested in this belief and Green Globe is a now a privately owned company that provides all its services on a professional basis to tourism businesses from small eco-resorts, through to international chains including Club Med, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, the Jumeirah Group and InterContinental Hotel Group, as well as many others.”
For 20 years Green Globe has been the leader in sustainability certification for the travel and tourism industry. Originally developed by the World Travel and Tourism Council, Green Globe has grown to become a successful for-profit company based in Los Angeles, California. To purposely align itself with the commercial realities of working in the travel and tourism industry, Green Globe seeks neither government assistance nor NGO funding. Today Green Globe enjoys annual double-digit growth in membership and has built profitable partnerships across the world.
“Our success has been to maintain the core promise of Green Globe, which is to do good by assisting businesses with continuous improvement,” added Mr Bauer.
